Adam's Monday List of Rad

Welcome to my weekly monday rad list. I was thinking today, there are a ton of things/people/places that I think are totally rad. I started compiling a list today and then decided to blog about it. Then, as I was writing this, I decided that I have more rad things than I can talk about in one day.

So, here’s what’s goin down: I’m going to think about what’s rad all week and then write about it on Mondays, since Mondays are not rad.

Things that are rad:

• Godzilla

  • I was originally thinking the song by Blue Oyster Cult, but now that I think of it, Godzilla the monster is pretty rad too. I want one.

• Photoshop

  • Photoshop is rad for so many reasons. I’m not going to list them all here.

Things that are NOT rad:

• dontclick.it

  • Someone brought this up in my ICAM class. This is a “clickless interface” for computers where you just mouse over things to activate them. Although this interface may seem novel and interesting, I don’t think it’s practical. For one thing, it isn’t good for data rich environments where it can waste time when you mouse over the wrong things. Also, it relies heavily on hierarchy which is generally discouraged in computing interface environments. If you are 10 levels deep and you accidentally bump the mouse, the hierarchy collapses and you are forces to start from scratch. And, it gives me the jibbles. Try it out and let me know what you think.
